Warning: This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for XO, Kitty season 2!
To All The Boys movies and the spinoff series, the first season of XO, Kitty tried to distance itself from its predecessor trilogy, making a show that could stand on its own. The references to the original show are Easter eggs rather than feeling integral to the storyline. The Song-Covey sisters are only ever mentioned by Kitty, never appearing onscreen.
However, XO, Kitty season 2 includes many more To All The Boys easter eggs that are fun for fans of the original movies. They also added two character appearances that will thrill viewers. Peter Cavinsky’s XO, Kitty season 2 cameo is the most notable since he’s a lead character in the original trilogy. Peter was only ever mentioned in conjunction with Kitty meddling in Peter and Lara Jean’s relationship. Still, the series pays off a bigger season 1 tease with the second cameo.
Margot Finally Makes A Cameo In XO Kitty Season 2 After Playing An Off-Screen Role In Season 1
Margot Song-Covey Brings Young Ja To Korea To Unify The Family
Although she never appeared onscreen in XO, Kitty season 1, Margot Song-Covey has a role in Kitty’s story. After Yuri reveals her sexuality to Kitty, the titular main character sets out to help Yuri get in with Juliana. Yuri’s girlfriend was sent to boarding school in Scotland, where Margot lives, so Kitty asks her older sister to help find Juliana. XO, Kitty season 2 goes a step further by including a Margot cameo.
Considering the To All The Boys movies show more of Kitty’s relationship with Lara Jean, it’s great to see the sisterly bond between Kitty and Margot.
In the second season, Kitty learns that she has a secret extended family in Korea, and she immediately starts to meddle. After learning the cause of the family rift in XO, Kitty season 2, she asks for Margot’s help in convincing their grandma, Young Ja, to travel to Korea to reunite with her sister, Soon Ja. After appearing on a video call, Margot flies to Seoul to help reunite the family. Considering the To All The Boys movies show more of Kitty’s relationship with Lara Jean, it’s great to see the sisterly bond between Kitty and Margot.
Margot's Cameo Paves The Way For Lara Jean Song-Covey To Appear In XO Kitty Season 3
XO, Kitty Season 3 Could Bring Lara Jean To Seoul, Korea
At face value, Margot’s appearance at the end of XO, Kitty season 2 brings the family story to a close, and it helps Kitty recognize her similarities to her mother. After all, Margot knew Eve Song before her death. However, the cameo also paves the way for more To All the Boys cameos – the most desired of which is Lara Jean Song-Covey.

XO, Kitty Season 2 Review: I Once Doubted Netflix's To All The Boys Spinoff, But I’m So Grateful The Show Exists
XO, Kitty set up a packed season 2, and the show hits the ground running with more swoon-worthy romance, shocking twists, and heartfelt arcs.
With the Korean side of Kitty’s family coming together, it makes sense that Lara Jean would make the trip to see Kitty and meet Jiwan and Soon Ja. The timing would also be perfect for XO, Kitty season 3. The Peter cameo reveals that he and Lara Jean are halfway through their final year of university. It would be easier for the middle Song-Covey sister to make the trip to Korea in XO, Kitty after graduating from New York University.
