See AllThe Wheel Of Time's Mat Twist Was Incredible, Especially Since The Show Convinced Me It Would Never Happen
Books are always better. First of all, because it costs WAAAY less to add extra words, sentences, paragraphs, pages, or chapters to a book than it costs to do nearly anything on a screen. Secondly, and most importantly, whenever you read a book, the characters, scenery, actions, world, and story have been created by you, in your own mind. It's statistically improbable, if not impossible, for any 2 people to read a book and come away with the exact same vision of what occurred. Hell, I've even gone back and reread books years later and had an entirely new vision of the story than the first time I read it. And the final reason: it's just not feasible to include every single thing from a book in a show or even a series of movies. Peter Jackson's Middle Earth movies are a prime example. The extended versions of all 3 Lord of the Rings movies total around 12 hours, and there was quite a bit left out of those. For that matter, he split a single book, The Hobbit, into 4 movies and STILL, there was material left out. I hope this helps folks better understand why there will never be a show or movie/s that's the same or even as good as the book they are based upon.
I've Completely Changed My Mind On My Biggest Complaint With The Jedi
I wouldn't go so far as to say the Jedi "would" have been seduced, but I'd be willing to say some of them "could" have been seduced by some rousing speeches. I'd hope that plenty of fictional characters have the same ability to see through bull$h!t as a lot of non-fictional people do.
Jean-Luc Picard Set An Unwanted Star Trek Record As The Captain Of 2 Different Starfleet Ships
Yes and no. Captain Archer's Enterprise was the first Starfleet vessel to bear the name Enterprise. However, it was the NX-1, not the NCC-1701... Sort of the same way the United States Navy aircraft carrier, USS Enterprise, has the same name.
Edit: This comment was meant to be a reply to Darrell, not Richard.
Jean-Luc Picard Set An Unwanted Star Trek Record As The Captain Of 2 Different Starfleet Ships
He was, but much like the United States governments "impeachment" process, it merely means to have charges brought, not that you are ultimately deemed guilty/responsible.
The Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Secretly Broke One Classic George Lucas Rule
"Rule" might be a bit of a strong word here.
What Happened To Obi-Wan Kenobi's Lightsaber After A New Hope?
The 2 most likely scenarios (each with multiple potentialities) I can think of are that either Vader picked it up, took it to his chambers, and it was destroyed in the explosion of the Death Star, it landed on Yavin IV with other debris from the Death Star, or it was blasted into space, or the 2nd scenario is that Vader picked it up and still had it on him when he jumped in his TIE Advanced x1, and after the battle, he could have taken it back to his castle on Mustafar to keep as a trophy, or taken it to Mustafar and chucked it into the lava...or maybe, just maybe, he took it full circle back to Tatooine and tossed it into the Dune Sea...because we know just how much the man hates sand! 🤣
